Drive Up Appeal
This savvy owner wanted an appealing planting scheme next to her driveway – as well as a fresh new look along her front walkway. First, her landscaper carved out more room in the planting area, allowing for greater impact and more plants around the tree. My design called for Mediterranean style plants, which complimented the existing garden scheme and palette: Scarlet Lady Daylilies, white Cistus Rock Rose, Euonymous, variegated Society Garlic, Lavender and purple Million Bells for groundcover (annuals). I included a Barberry—to echo the Plum tree and contrast with the Society Garlic. Against the fence, I added some color with a red Double Delight rose. Under the windows and along the walkway, I combined Viburnum with colorful Primroses. Every Spring, this scheme is refreshed with bright new annuals to keep the garden glowing and fresh.
