Secret Courtyard
Often new construction presents an opportunity to dream big - and wide! Looking at the walls and feeling the heat, we knew the rose gallery would flourish here. In the fountain area, I combined trees and shade plants, including variegated Polemonium, Helleborus and Mother Ferns. Bulbs were added so her spectacular Bearded Iris flank the stairs and are viewable from her kitchen window each morning. Delphiniums, Diascia and bellflowers mix with the roses. The climbing Icebergs are now over the walls and smiling at the neighbors. This project was lovingly created over a few months and gives the owner pleasure from Spring to Fall.
